Are Varilux lenses delivered with a certificate of authenticity?


Yes. At the time of purchase, your optician will usually you a certificate that guarantees the brand’s authenticity.


Were progressive lenses invented by Essilor?


Yes. It was Bernard Maitenaz, a researcher at Essilor, who invented the progressive lens in 1959. Since then, steady research by the Essilor group has brought about numerous improvements.

Does it take time to get used to progressive lenses?


No. Adaptation to Varilux progressive lenses is very quick. In fact, for most people, it is immediate.

When you collect your glasses you will receive a Varilux Guarantee Card. Not only is this your assurance that you are wearing authentic Varilux® lenses, but it also covers 'adaptation' which means that if you cannot adapt to your Varilux® lenses within 30 days from collection, your optician will give you a suitable replacement.

Why do I get the impression of swinging?
