LiveOptics: a focus on the wearer

Essilor’s research and development concentrates particularly on the progress of two complementary disciplines:physiology and optics. This is the founding principle of the Varilux scientific program called LiveOptics.

All Varilux lenses are the result of a permanent back and forth process between knowledge of the living systemand knowledge of optics.

The ultimate ambition of Varilux LiveOptics is for the eye and the lens to become one, with the lens adaptingitself to the eye. Whatever the distance, the wearer benefits from the very best visual experience a progressivelens can deliver: Natural Vision.

All Varilux lenses are tested and validated by the end-customer.
